We’re aware of a bug in the Android version of our new Shepper app which can prevent the app from launching. If your Android app develops this issue it may require you to re-do your last inspection. There is a simple fix...
If your app isn’t launching because it gets stuck at the logo or ‘splash screen’ you will need to clear BOTH the App Cache AND the App Data from the Application Storage area of your phone’s Settings page.
First, find the settings page for your Shepper app. This is usually found in the Applications or Application Manager area of your phone’s Settings app.
Select the Shepper app and locate the Storage tab.
You will need to clear BOTH the app Cache AND app Data storage in order to clear the issue and be able to successfully launch the app. It is not enough to clear just one.
You will likely see a warning when clearing the app’s Data storage similar to the one below. Clearing the app data will remove any existing reports from your phone but it is safe to do so. All of your completed reports and your completed work record are safely stored with us. If your Android app has developed this ‘failure to launch’ issue, however, there is no other way to fix it without clearing your Data storage. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app leaves the problem unaffected.
After clearing the app Cache and the app Data you should be able to successfully launch the Shepper app and continue inspecting.
Our Tech Team is working hard behind the scenes to repair this problem in future versions of the app. In the meantime, it would be incredibly helpful if you could fill in the below form whenever you encounter any app issues!
